LEGENDS vs. CANON?
The original run of Star Wars books and comics under DEL REY, Bantham, MARVEL (70’s – 80’s) and later Dark Horse series were discontinued as of 2014 after Disney acquisition.
The one coherent story commonly referred to as “The Expanded Universe” or EU is a single vision connecting stories across multiple media
such as comics, video games, adult and children’s novels, TV shows, and movies! Disney’s rebranded name
for this discontinued Canon is “Legends”. Generally speaking, all media released after 2014 is considered Disney Era.
In light of Disney’s mishandling of Star Wars brand, slurring its fandom, the degrading storytelling quality, and modern day “messaging”
I will never call their Star Wars Canon again. Rest assured, I will continue to upload new novels and comics here regularly! You may find quite a few talented artists
and writers here and there but in my experience, the Disney era never matched the scope, vision, narrative consistency,
or artwork quality of the Dark Horse comics.
