Offline Address Book
The Bat! uses its own address book, separate from the Microsoft Windows Address Book. The Microsoft Windows Address Book, used by Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, and other programs, is the primary target of all virus attacks, as viruses extract email addresses from the Microsoft Address Book for further propagation.
Internal HTML Viewer
The internal HTML viewer built into The Bat! is independent of the system HTML rendering module and Microsoft Internet Explorer. It supports HTML 4.0 and CSS v2.0 document formatting styles, and ignores scripts and executable code, which are the main cause of viruses. This prevents viruses that exploit known vulnerabilities in Microsoft Internet Explorer HTML from penetrating your computer.
Correct Handling of Attached Files
The Bat! warns the user about possible viruses before attempting to open files with suspicious extensions, and allows you to block certain file types from running. The user sees the actual extension of attached files. If an attached file has a double extension, such as photo.jpg.exe, The Bat! will display an additional warning.
Selective Download
Selective download allows you to delete an email or leave it on your POP3 or IMAP4 server without waiting for the message to download. Selective download filters can be used to combat viruses and unwanted ads.

Backup

You can synchronize the contents of multiple copies of The Bat!. Mail synchronization allows you to maintain the same state for two copies of The Bat!.

Powerful Encryption
The internal PGP implementation, based on the widely recognized OpenSSL engine, allows you to encrypt messages and digitally sign them. A convenient digital key manager is included. Free add-ons for PGP v5.5, v6.0.2, 6.5, v7.x, and v8.x, including GnuPG, are also supported. The Bat! supports S/MIME via its Internal Implementation or Microsoft CryptoAPI. It is the first email client to support S/MIME data compression. The Bat! supports Secure Socket Layer v3.1 and Transport Layer Security v1.0 with the AES algorithm.
Additional Features
Compatibility with Microsoft Exchange
The Bat! connects to Microsoft Exchange servers using the MAPI protocol for retrieving and sending messages.
National Encodings

Mail Dispatcher
