Nico Baran The Backups v1.0.0 is a vocal harmony plugin for Windows. Sing one line, and a sixties revue follows. Six singers will read your pitch, find the key, and perform their parts. The stage is a plugin. Everything you hear, you can see.
The Cast
Six singers, from top to bottom. Each one is a full, harmonious voice with its own part, and each one is painted on the stage. Those illuminated sing, those in shadow rest.
Instructions
Click on the singer to give them instructions. Click on any stage participant, and the rest of the room will be plunged into darkness. He steps into the light with his score, and everyone turns to him. It has everything a real arranger would ask of a backup singer.
Controls
Spacing: ±24 semitones, tied to your key in Key and Scale mode
Volume and Panning: where they stand and how loud they sing
Wow and Flutter: ±50 cents, for duets that stay on time
Formants: ±6 semitones in the larynx area, with all six locked
Delay: 0 to 80 ms, so duets come in a little later
